Groovy Friends

The BMR is a grass-root event that only happens due to the contributions of many people who consist of both BMR staff and BMR participants.

In addition, there are organizations that have done some really nice things for the BMR, and we are truly appreciative. We call these folks our “Groovy Friends”, and they truly are!  We owe them a huge “Thank You”.

Not only did the BMR blatantly steal some concepts from our Groovy Friends at the Dam Tour, they allowed us to “tag along” on their ‘bonus dams’ in 2012. The Dam Tour is a great event, with great people. You should experience first-hand how groovy they are by signing up for the 2013 Dam Tour.

Mario is truly a Groovy Friend of the BMR. He has shown his support in many ways, but most notably Mario made a very generous contribution to BMR2012 in the form of LDcomfort attire that would go to the BMR/Seven-Eleven rider who raised the most money for the American Diabetes Association and Team Harrison. I think Heidi S will agree that Mario is indeed a Groovy Friend to have. If you’re not buying your undergarments from LDcomfort, you’re not groovy.

A great tour, and a great cause. BMR2012 Approached the TOH and said: “We have a new rally concept, it’s never been proven, we have a stupid name and no one has ever heard of us. -Do you mind if we tag along on some of your most special 2012 TOH bonuses?” …And our Groovy Friends at the TOH said: “OK”.
We sure appreciate them and there is no reason for you to not sign up for this fantastic tour. Do so today.

A new Friend for 2013, The AMA approached the BMR and said: “We want to be a part of your fun.” So now they are! The BMR is proud to be an AMA sanctioned event -and to have the AMA as new Groovy Friends. This organization does some good stuff, and they can’t do so without your support -please do your part to support the AMA.

No one has more fun on bikes than the MERA folks.   They shared that fun last  year with the BMR by sponsoring the start of the  “Seven-Eleven” ride.  They sure took care of the “Seven-Eleven” riders. Many riders were recovering for days afterwards -and that was from the PRE-ride festivities!! We’ve very appreciative. If you like riding and fun, look no further than a MERA event.

This is a great event with great people ..and tough to beat the straight-forward format. And, it’s the weekend before the BMR banquet ….at least a few people are tying the two events together. ARE YOU??

Designed for mere mortals: The Park ‘N Ride Rally is an easy to complete day ride to some of the most interesting places in California and some surrounding states. We’ll have two classes, a Novice class where you only have to cover 100 miles and go to 3 bonus locations to be a finisher; and an Open class, which is for more experienced rally riders or those who like a challenge. We’ve designed this rally so it won’t matter if you are coming from San Diego, San Francisco, Utah or Arizona.
